  Weber
Good over all. The grill is not as good as my last Weber and the top is a little loose.
    Back yard workhorse!
This is my second Weber kettle (I had to leave my other behind when I moved out west) and I love it! It is perfect for getting direct high heat on my hammered steel wok! (just remove the grilling grate and set on some bricks with coals between) Cooks steaks and burgers to perfection. I have a Brinkmann Smoke N Pit for the big smoking jobs so the Weber is my "side burner"! I love the one touch ash remover but I would make one suggestion. Eliminate the tiny ash tray and place a galvanized steel bucket on the shelf between the wheels. The bucket I had was a tight fit at the top where the legs angle in so I did need to ever so slightly oval the bucket but that was a simple two second squeeze. I use only hardwood charcoal and a chimney starter. NEVER lighter fluid!
    RIB SMOKIN MACHINE
The Weber One Touch Silver is the best kettle grill for indirect low and slow cooking of meats, which means RIBS (but chicken and steak is good too). This Charcoal grill made it so easy to maintain a constant temperature of 225 for a six hour cooking period that I thought something had to be wrong with my oven thermometer. But when those ribs wanted to fall apart as they were being transferred from grill to plate, I knew the Weber was just living up to its name (and no, I do not use cheap methods like wrapping the meat in tinfoil nor do I do the unspeakable act of par-boiling). I maybe had to adjust the vents 3 or 4 times for the 6 hours my ribs were cooking. Not once did I need to add more coals. In fact, after the cook I closed the vents to kill the fire and when I peeked inside the next morning I found that enough coals had remained to cook for an additional 2 hours.
The one thing I would complain about (and it doesn't really matter to me but I guess it might for some folk) is that you cannot see the bottom vents. Now, we know how important it is to know the status of the vents when we're cookin our ribs, right? Since the vents act also as an ash sweeper, they are inside the grill and you have to stoop pretty low to see how far opened they are. Next time I'll use a mirror to see under the grill. Don't want to strain myself.
Assembly was so easy I felt like Einstein seeing that shiny black dome standing erect in my living room in a matter of minutes. The fifty dollar pile of junk I got from SEARS last year you actually had to bolt the legs of the grill in, whereas this Weber has sleeves welded into the dome that you just push the legs into. The reason why I had to throw away my BBQ-Pro from Sears is that the screw-holes for the legs deteriorated and widened and would no longer stand proper and created all kinds of leaks that made it impossible to regulate temperature.
For convenience purposes I bought the hinged grate that comes with the One Touch Gold model and still saved about 30 dollars. The ash-catcher differs between the two models. This one has a tray while the Gold model uses a box. I guess if you don't want ash on your patio you will want the Gold Model. Some ash will escape the tray when using the Silver Model, but it's not like a pile will start to accumulate, even after a six hour cook. I also feel that the vents on the Silver model work more directly with the coals when adjusting temperature since they are not boxed in.
What else can I say, really? What more can the backyard chef want? A Charcoal grill that you can actually set it and forget it (well, almost).
    Weber Charcoal Grill
I originally brought a Weber Grill a good 10 years ago at Home Depot. It survived all kinds of weather and lasted very well. We brought a similar unit thru Amazon and have been very pleased with the construction and operation of the new grill. The price was good too.
    Weber 22.5" Kettle Grill
Simply the best charcoal grill on the market! Stack your coals at one side and you can heat and char as you wish. Want to smoke? Just put the lid on and adjust the top and bottom vents. Direct flame, indirect heat, long smoking times. Unlike gas, you get true charcoal flavor. Buy actual hardwood charcoal and not chemical stuff like Kingsford and you have the most incredible flavors that will make you want to cook everything on this grill.
If you are serious about charcoal cooking, this is the one to have.
