We thought we would try this one from Amazon and do it ourselves. The shipping took almost two weeks! The shipper (CEVA) is terrible. When it finally got to OHare it just sat there for days without moving. After many calls to CEVA with no results, an email to Amazon finally rattled some cages, and it eventually got here. The instructions are terrible, all pictures, and very confusing. When you call the tech help phone number the people up in Canada are nice, but they really don't have a clue to installing it with the "post in ground" method. Also the description is not completely clear on this, but you MUST buy either the extension post or the deck base kit. On the grill we replaced there is only one post, the post that goes all the way from the grill head to down into the ground. With this grill you have to put the extension post (seperate purchase) into the ground and then the post that comes with the grill attaches to that. The grill has a lot of power and gets very hot. The thermometer that is on the hood reads quite a bit lower than the oven thermometer that I put inside the grill in the center. According to my oven thermometer, after an initial heat up period, turning the burners all the way down produces a temp of 350f. Of course if you only had one side of the burner going you could bring that down further. With the burners set to medium, the grill is 450. The cast iron cooking grates are nice and heavy, and seem to have a generous porcelain coating. My old grill had the handle in front which I prefer to the handles on the side. But it is a nice barbecue, and it is so wonderful to have a new grill! | |||||||
